I wouldn’t say she’s unhappy in the end. I think in the end she makes a decision. The road less traveled is not as important as the fact that she made the choice to travel the road at all. I don’t think she’s happy or sad at the end. I think she’s accepted that this is life, and she needs to keep going. The man realizes too late that forever is a long a time to wait for someone, too.
