Best video. Go, Jenny! β€
Just realised my mistake – I was opening the binding and attaching it in a single layer. π€π
OMG Jenny, you are brilliant!. I don't need to watch any other tutorial again on quilt binding! So glad I found you. Thank you.
I did it! Great video..first finished quilt in the bag (well, once I sew the binding on the back) Yippee! Thank you for your wonderful instructions!
thank you so much for showing how to do this simply. I love watching your videos. I love your humor to sewing. I agree with vikkivanveldhuzien2290 Please keep this video up. I like to go back to it constantly.
Wonderful tutorial. I'm binding my first baby quilt and needed your hand holding.
Thanks for this. I have watched a few and your video is the easiest to understand and follow. Appreciate it.
Lovely, thank you!
This is by far, the BEST binding tutorial out thereβ¦I rewatch it every time I bind a quilt, I rewatch it.
You are the best!
Thanks for still having this up I needed it and I have made a lot of quilts in my time but I forget how to do this.
I love this tutorial!
Hi Jenny! Thanks for the binding lesson. It looks way easier because Iβm left handed too. I usually struggle watching tutorials, yours was easy to understand. Thx!
A refresher for me on binding thanks.
Thank you!
I have tried this technique twice and each time I send up having a surplus of the binding. Can't figure out why that is.
This is my 'go to' for binding. I'm embarrased to tell you how many times I reference it. π Please don't ever remove it. π Thank you.
Great Tutorial!π

Binding tool
Thank you, thank you for this tutorial. It was wonderful.
I agree with the other ladies. I am new at quilting, and this isn't the first time I had to come back and find this to refresh my memory on how you did the binding. Thank you!!!
Agree – donβt ever delete this!!!
Thank you. Just finished up a quilt that needed the bias and this really helped.
Thank you very much for this handy binding tutorial, especially for the joining of the binding!
Love your tutorials. Being more of a visual learner, I do appreciate you giving close-ups in your teaching . Thanks!
This is the only video anyone needs on the internet for binding. Clear, not micro explained, but very very informative. Most other videos skip the joining process and I got myself into a bind (no pun intended lol) when I realized I'd done all the corners and didnt know how to turn the binding over. So sad for me. But I know better now. Thank you Jenny!!
Brand new to thisβ¦so if I am binding all by machine, do the back first, raw edges together. Then flip it over and stitch the front right along the fold?
Jenny Doan, I could kiss you. I've been quilting for 12 years (and have struggled with bindings just as long), and this is the first time anyone ever explained that the overlap should be the same as the binding width. Got It to fit perfectly the first try. Thank you so much!
Good Morning and Thank you for this video. I am left handed too and love to see how other left handers quilt and sew. Thank you again.
Extra little tip: use that selvage you cut off and open it up. Use that to measure the 2.5" easily.
Thank you for that video!! You're so good at explaining things so simply! β€
Very goodβ€β€
Iβm having issues putting the ends together
Thank You!!!!!
Hi Jenny, thank you so much for this video! I have it bookmarked and return to it often. After several years, I finally got a binding JUST right!
What is the pattern for the quilt in the background called? The one that looks like white circles with the little 4 pointed stars? Every time I see it I think it's beautiful π
This is such a great tutorial. I found out I was doing something correctly, the corners. And I learned how to finish without all the bulk Iβve had.
Love this tutorial because you took the mystery out of finishing the binding measurements! I watched this many years ago and just re-watched it to finish a Ninja Turtles quilt for my 4 year old grandson. Thank you!
Was having a panic attack, clicked on this video, and forgot I was panicking until it was over. Thank you! I feel better, AND I feel like I learned something
Discovered this tutorial and in love with Jennie. Donβt have lots of time to sew, but when I do, I go to Jennie for refresher info and major motivation. she taught me this ( I watch about once a year) and gives me conviction that i can do it! β¦and I do.
I used this technique today to bind a quilt. It worked like a charm! Thank you!
I agree with the comment below this one. I, too, watch this tutorial each time I bind a new quilt. Thank you.
I have just done this three times and not had it come out. I don't want to cut the triangle because I keep ending up with the seam on the outside and I don't know what I am doing wrong. @missouristar
Love this video, you make it look so easy. I followed your video and now I love binding. Thank you for your video
This is a really great video on binding please keep it going for those of that that are newbieβs or just need a refresher!!!β€ patty
I I've this and use it every single time I do a binding. Please leave it up forever!! Thank you Jenny, you make everything seem like I can do it!
I just did my very first binding. I used the technique you described for connecting the ends. I was anxious it wouldnβt work, but it worked beautifully! Whew!!! Love your instructional videos! Super helpful
This method is great for me. But, I'm not one of those people who look at a 3D puzzle and "see" how it goes together….. something I just can't do. If you could show on tutorial and say right sides together or wrong sides together at the last step and to sew from the outside corner to the other outside corner I would be so great if others who have this same problem. The lighting was dark when you were showing the last step too. I thankful my hubby doesn't have this problem and after watching you "we" got it done lol. Thank you of the way you do your tutorials. I love your books and have a couple years of them to work from.
Yes!! PLEASE DON'T EVER TAKE THIS TUTORIAL DOWN!!! I've watched it every time I need to make a binding even for placemats I made! It's MORE than helpful!!! Thank you!!!!
