Exactly what I needed to get my Christmas wallhanging startet. I bought a funny Panel a few years ago. Every year I took it out of its box just to put it back frustratet after a few days by not knowing how to start. Now I have a lot of ideas…. Can‘t wait to pull the panel out of it‘s box this time 😊
I've never met a panel that was printed on the straight of grain. If it has a small border or line around the edge, when you try and square up the design, it gets cut off. Then, you don't even have 1/4" for a seam without losing part of the design. These two examples don't have edged lines and have wide extra fabric so they work. Only use these panels with this type of printing!
Courtney, you are an excellent teacher! I vote more tutorials from you for sure! Your humor reminds me a lot of Jenny also😂🥰
That dinosaur panel quilt is gold. Love the kaleidoscope designs it made.

Very enjoyable and instructional! Thank you very much! I do have a panel or two to work on…or play with!
Great ideas and tips, Courtney! If I ever make a kaleidoscope quilt I will put the whole panel on the back — super idea!
Thank you , you are so clear and easy to learn from
I love to use panels that relate to my quilt top as the center of my backing. I will just add borders until it gets to the correct size.
I like my backings yo be fun!!!

Courtney, the chart with the math was not included on the 4 ways pattern! You are a really good tutor, thank you for sharing!
Wow, great video. Just what I needed as I have a Xmas panel and fabric and want to do a hexagon quilt. Thank you.
Courtney, you are a great teacher. Hope to see more tutorials from you.
Great tip on letting the feed dog ease excess fabric in. I have oodles of panels that I have done nothing with. You've inspired me.
Courtney, that is great tutorial with great information
Thanks for all the info, Courtenay! I switch back and forth with piecing my borders between straight and angles depending on if I think I have enough strips. Great tips!
❤ Courtney❤❤❤❤love her tutorials
My favorite 🤩. I have a peacock panel and I want to create a quilt with it for my daughter but always overthink it and create a mental block. I think this will help me. Thank you!!! ❤
Best idea ever to buy 7 panels to use one on the back! I still haven't done one but when I do find the panel I want to use I'll for sure buy 7. I mean, what's one more? I always like seeing different ways to finish a panel. I don't have a lot but do need to work my way thru them. I just purchased a package of patterns from Fabric Cafe that are designed specifically for panels to be a 3 yard quilt. Can't wait to get started on them.
Courtney where is the measurements you are talking about for the panels for the borders ? thank you
I have a panel I want to turn into a wall hanging, have never quite had the courage to do it. Now I think I’m ready. Thanks, Courtenay! Also I like the idea of backstitching. Have been doing more of that lately. Another thing I do for borders & binding is press those seams open, whether I do straight or diagonal. It helps distribute that bulk.
Very helpful. Thank you Courtney ❤
Fantastic
Very clear and precise instructions, thank you!.
Can you teach the kaleidoscope panel with the panel on the back to tutorial??😅
Thanks for the great ideas!😊
Soooo.. I have issues when the pattern calls for the panel to be cut a certain size. If there is a object in tbe middle of the panel, that needs to be centered before the cut. Then I run into trouble with the pattern size that is wanted. Could you explain in more detail how to better cut down a panel . Do we square up before the panel is cut to pattern size? How do we figure that out on how much to take off the sides.
Courtney, I love it when you do a tutorial. You describe why you do or do not do things. You come across as a knowledgeable friend teaching.
Great information. I would love to see more tutorials with Courtney.
Most definitely want to see more from Courtney.
