This song makes me want to shop at hollister
I always interpreted this video as the dad being self-hating in a discriminatory place. An (imperfect) metaphor I compare it to is that it’s like they live in an anti-Semitic neighborhood for example, and the guy with the antlers is the only Jew in town and gets picked on for it. The girl’s dad hides his Jewish heritage, maybe partially out of shame, and partially to protect his daughter from hate. At the end his ancestry is discovered and he has to make peace with it and who he is, and accepts his daughter’s new boyfriend.
